Repeated steps 2-4 above on a different U2415 with the same results. Connected Dell's included mDP-to-DP cable between an iMac (tested both Thunderbolt ports) and the U2415's regular Display (input) port-video feed was successful (which tells me DP 1.2 was activated properly). Connected 2 verified working mDP-to-mDP cables between both Thunderbolt ports on an iMac-video feed was unsuccessful. Connected an Apple mDP-to-VGA adapter to a verified working VGA feed from a VGA distribution amplifier-video feed was unsuccessful. Activated DisplayPort (DP 1.2) capability via the U2415 onboard menu per Dell instructions. To date, I've accomplished the following troubleshooting steps: In this particular case, I'm trying to connect an HDMI feed from the iMac to extend the iMac's screen workspace (which works fine) and a VGA video feed from a distribution amplifier using an Apple Mini DisplayPort (mDP)-to-VGA adapter.īut regardless of the working HDMI video, I cannot get the mDP port to recognize the signal (which works fine with the previous Samsung monitor).
DELL P2815Q DRIVER FOR MAC MAC
Having said that, the primary reason why I bought the monitors is that we send multiple video feeds from our iMacs and Mac Pros as well as from the teacher's station. I would like to begin this post on a positive note, specifically that the U2415 is nearly ideal for our studio and lab environments, particularly the HDMI 3.0 hub which give ready access for student external drives so they won't be messing around on the back of my iMacs. I hope I've explained this clearly and thanks for any help. Is this setup possible, maybe by unscrewing the mounting plate on the stand that the panel clicks onto and turning it upside down?
DELL P2815Q DRIVER FOR MAC HOW TO
I can't see how to achieve this since both stands only allow the monitor to rotate 90 degrees clockwise to portrait orientation and then back to landscape orientation. This would mean that the two thin bezels (that run along the top of the screens when viewed in landscape orientation) were side by side in the middle of my desktop, minimising the amount of black plastic that interrupts my view of the desktop that runs across both screens. What I would like to do is physically rotate the right hand panel by 180 degrees from the current orientation so that the thick bezel with the buttons is on the right hand side of the right hand screen. Right now they are both rotated 90 degrees clockwise so that the widest bezel/border that has the Dell logo and control buttons is on the left of each screen. One is on the factory standard stand and the other is on a combo Dell docking station and monitor stand. I have a pair of Dell P2217H monitors side by side on my desk in portrait orientation. I also followed suggestions, without any success, made by user DELL-Chris M on similar issues in:Īny suggestions how to troubleshoot this? How to completely reset/ restart U2410 (without entering OSD menu)? ) to ensure all primary colors can be displayed

cycled through color test (white, red, green, blue.

entered 'factory menu' to ensure all touch buttons are working press and hold the 'lock' touch button (right above the physical power on/off button) for 15 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute, 2 minutes Attached picture demonstrates it quite clearly (with A4 white sheet to show the contrast).Īnother unusual state: occasionally Power button LED is orange, all five touch button LEDs are with blue color. The screen is missing blue color (the picture's overall impression is green-ish) and I'm unable to enter OSD settings (the monitor signals it's locked and cannot be unlocked). The other day I powered on the monitor and was surprised by its unexpected behavior.
